New Board Member - Your votes have been tallied by the CPA firm of Colin M Grubb & Associates LLC and as a result Bob Norton # 257 from Indiana has been elected to a three year term on the ROA Board of Trustees. The official announcement was made at the Annual Meeting in Sacramento. At the next Board meeting they will select their officers for the 2009-2010 year.
Annual Meets - This announcement was prepared before I left for our National meet in Sacramento, but we’ll get details and photos from the meet posted ASAP. Additional information will appear in the Sept/Oct issue of the Riview. We are expecting a smaller crowd than we have had the past two years, when the meets were held in the east and mid-west. Unfortunately we still have trouble getting those west coast members out for a week.
Next June we’ll be returning to the east and to the “Heart of PA”. Our meet will be held in the Hershey-Harrisburg area, home of the Hershey Chocolates, the AACA Car Museum and a short drive to historic Gettysburg. Immediately following our meet the GM Nationals will begin at nearby Carlisle. Watch for details to be announced on this site and in future issues of the Riview.
Local & Regional Events – In the past several issues I have been giving a lot of credit to our Regional Coordinators across the country, who have worked hard to plan local events. We hope you continue to support their efforts. Special thanks go to the coordinators from the Southeastern states, who through hard work and cooperation hosted a wildly successful weekend Regional Meet in Savannah. You can read all about on this site.
Postal Regulations- Anyone who has ever had to work with the post office knows that they have many regulations. Just prior to the release of the last issue the USPS issued a rule that magazine bindings must be to the left of the address label. That means we had to either place your address on upside down or print it on the back cover. We choose to print it on the front cover. It was not a mistake.
Riviera Calendars- Many years ago we were asked to produce a Riviera calendar. It seemed like a great idea and we considered it. That is until we investigated it further. Calendars only sell for about 3 months, and the extras sit on the shelf until they are thrown away. Instead of printing calendars, each issue of the Riview has a full page photo on the back cover. By hanging your Riview over that calendar from the bank or drug store you now have a Riviera to look at all month. In addition you select the car you want to see. It’s the best of both worlds.
